Neat little inlet kit

I've used K&N on a lot of different cars in the past. I never thought of making any modifications to our Mini. My wife drives it most of the time and she is happy with the power range. I figured why not, it might be fun. After reading the reviews here and elsewhere I decided to do it. Installation was very easy, you remove the old rig, save two bolts from the original airbox for reuse, then install K&N to their specs. Most common tools will allow you to install this. This is probably one of the easiest cold air intakes I've ever installed. Driving Experience: When you first start the car in the garage, at higher revs you will notice that the turbo exhaust valve is much louder. You can hear it even while driving. Almost sounds aftermarket. I've also noticed a whistling noise when I let the car go full throttle. Mind you, this will make your car sound different and less civilized, but I personally don't care. It sounds to me like it should be a turbocharged car, and it also feels like the pull is a bit more powerful above 80km/h. I would definitely buy it again as it's a fun little mod for your mini and really stands out. Still curious to see if MPG improves. Enjoy!
