Phone Security Nightmare

The first sign something is wrong is when the manual says you need location and GPS turned on for the app to work. None of them require transmitting the temperature of the four sensor tips to the phone application via Wi-Fi. If you then try to install either of the two supported apps - BBQ-4T and Inkbird Pro - it turns out that they need carte blanche to access your phone. see attached photos of access requirements: device and app history, identity, contacts, location, photos/media/files, camera, wifi connection information, bluetooth connection information, device ID and call information. Need to see your contacts to let you know what the backyard temp sensor is measuring? Your photos/media/files too? And access to the camera - just being a kinky would be one of the best reasons for that. Where is all this going? It should be obvious that they are not needed - this access is required for another reason. If you're not sure what that is, and would like, for example, to give your email history to an organization that has already lied to you about their services, clicking "accept" to allow that access is foolish grant.
