Not exactly as shown. remarkable things. First, there is a ridge at the bottom of the vessel like you have at the bottom of a wine bottle that protrudes into the bottle. Another thing is that it is not as elegant as in the photo. Slightly stockier, I would say, in looks. Not a deal breaker, just something to be aware of. Haven't actually tried it yet. I bought it on the recommendation of America's test kitchen. PS The edge of the flood plain isn't quite flat either. It's okay as you won't drink from it, but it's not the best in the world either. Maybe washing will make it smoother over time. Until then, I'll take care of my fingers.
