Revainrating 5 out of 5

Well made and works as intended

I bought these for my 2010 F150. I had 4WD problems for two years and last year it became completely inoperable. I ran some tests and found it was most likely the drives. I was in the process of replacing the struts and was planning to do more testing on the drives to see if they were really bad. While working on the first rack I removed an old actuator to do some vacuum testing and upon removal it split in half - pretty much confirming that it was bad. Half way to work I needed this fast. I don't normally buy auto parts from Revain, but I made an exception to get them overnight, which I did. I don't really know if both are needed but I decided to just make both since the price was reasonable and I switched racks anyway. After all, they are well made. Maybe not OEM quality, but not cheap with any stretch either. They are well packaged and pre-lubed which is good, especially if you are not experienced enough to know how to pre-lube the drivetrain. It is very important. However, one of the default ratings is "are they easy to install?". It really has nothing to do with the actual drive, more to do with your auto repair skills. This is not a job for the average garden mechanic. They come with extra bearing grease needed to prevent a less than perfect fit. Based on all of the above, I have no problem recommending these drives when a change is needed. Well made at a very reasonable price. Note. If you haven't done car repairs before, I suggest you watch some YouTube videos to see if you can. I recommend FordTechMakuloco. It does a good job of showing you how to replace them, which gives you a good idea of whether it's within your power.
