The product suits me. I have an old netbook that I used to stream movies in the bedroom. The first television it was connected to had a VGA connector. When I replaced the TV, I couldn't stop thinking about the netbook. When I tried to connect my computer, I found that I didn't have any VGA ports. I bought this item and was able to use one of the free HDMI ports. The connection lasted only a few seconds. I power the device from the netbook's USB port using the cable that came with it. Not included: HDMI cable VGA cable 3.5mm cable You need your own cable. If your computer doesn't have any open USB ports, you can use an adapter to power your device (you'll need to buy one). Please note the voltage and power rating when purchasing an adapter.
