I use this as a mobile solution for VHF radio amateurs in digital mode with HT. This, Baofeng and a laptop and I'll be up and running in minutes. Works great with FLDigi. I can send and receive (encode/decode) successfully. Tested CW, PSK-31 and MFSK-16. Will probably work a lot more if you have an FM requirement. Set the squelch to 1, vox to 2 and you're good to go. Leave the volume low enough to start and adjust as needed. Don't forget to disable system sounds or use a USB sound card (like TRRS) to skip all this. If you need to work with a weak signal, you can keep the MON open and watch the waterfall. It just works. Solid and simple.
