Review on ๐Ÿบ CraftABrew BE-CAT Catalyst Fermentation System - 6.5 Gallon Conical Fermenter for Home Beer Brewing & Wine Making by Chip Palmer

I wish I could count on the longevity of this fermentation system

I want this system to work and both times I've brewed two batches while harvesting the yeast. Ever since I started my first batch of beers I have struggled with a throttle body leak where it attaches to the tank. After the last cleaning, I noticed chipping on the plastic threads at the junction of the valve and tank. Every brew has had a leak and the only way to stop it is to tighten the valve on the tank even more. Can I have torn the thread? I have no idea. The alternative to puffing was to drain the batch, essentially throwing it away and taped it on for my next brew. Upon taking a closer look after this last use, I also noticed wear on the seal in the valve where the valve choke meets the seal with every use of the handle. Is this normal seal wear over a maximum of six possible pipe releases? Should we expect new problems in the future? I wonder how many more times I can use this $200 gear, $245 if I add the jacket that I also bought for it. This is a great system that I plan to rely on in the future. Any suggestions from the manufacturer on what I can do to store butterfly seals for future brews might help ease my pain. Sad face. 10/2/21 continued. I'm impressed by the amount of mold on the lid after each brew. At this stage, placing the catalyst over the drain is a convenient way to clean the brewing equipment that is being hosed down. I don't think it's completely useless.
