Qualifications: I'm a unionized carpenter/metal designer. The reliability of these belt clips makes it more suitable for home use than professionals. The thickness of the original steel was 1.7 mm for me and 1.5 mm for these. Definitely more flexible and softer metal than the original. For those who don't strap their screwdriver to their bag and don't bang on a scissor lift on a daily basis, I would recommend them. For professionals I would take the original. However, it would be okay to have a backup in your toolbox. I will be using them on some of the Dewalt tools that I use exclusively at home and will be buying a few of the originals for my work tools. ***Update*** Decided to return them, the hook is too flexible for me. I see that they break fairly easily after regularly bending them back and forth to straighten them. This manufacturer should consider heat treatment. Durability would definitely increase, the metal is too soft.
