Review on 🚴 Planet Bike Blinky Bottle Side Light for Bikes by Jim Moody

So far so good after about half a year of regular use (about 10-15 hours a week). When changing the battery (weekly due to the use of rechargeable AAA batteries) the plastic still snaps into place and the rubber seal is intact. The fact that this flashlight does NOT use a pre-installed lithium ion battery and is instead powered by AAA is a BONUS as this flashlight will never wear out. I have the more expensive (more powerful) rechargeable Advisor side light on my road bike and Bottle Blinkies on my MTB and 'cross bikes. To be honest, I prefer this Planet Bike model for its overall practicality. I have to put an extra battery in the top pocket of the road bike that connects to the Brightside lamp to ensure it stays on for long rides (6 hours+), while the Bottle Blinky barely needs a few spare AAA batteries. Another plus point is the clean installation under the bottle cage: additional weight on the bike can also be stowed away here (low in the frame, which is good for stability). Despite the low position, this light is still an eye catcher and (as other reviews have mentioned) I've noticed benefits at intersections and junctions, as well as passing vehicles, which offer wider spaces. Finally, there is now a nice amount of extra light illuminating the bottles and drivetrain/bottom bracket area, as well as the roadside itself. Well done PB for launching such a useful and potentially life saving accessory - I will never ride without a Bottle Blinky again!
