Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly what I needed for my cargo e-bike!

Despite living in a fairly affluent 25-mile golf cart community, after purchasing a Rad Power Bikes RadWagon 4 electric cargo bike, I've had issues with cars: They either didn't see me , or simply categorically not respecting my right of way. So basically I needed a much louder horn (my anemic bike bell just couldn't handle it). However, on one of my trips to the grocery store, I was only met by a complete stranger who tried to put his young son on my bike "to try it out". I mean, I'm wondering if that explanation works on Porsches and Ferraris? (probably no). So while I don't have to worry too much about theft (and I have a very expensive and bulky motorcycle lock), I also really like this alarm. I have a rather unusual e-bike, so it should help keep curious people at bay (and not touching or otherwise 'trying' the e-bike) and would-be thieves. I probably shouldn't be posting this review as the alarm/bell has been charging for over 5 hours now and the charge indicator is still red instead of blue. The instructions state that it will take around 3 hours to fully charge. So I may come back to edit this rating/review for the loading aspect. I mean, I think it could also be a good thing that it takes a while to charge because that probably means it's got a really big battery that will last a long time. However, I have to say that I'm not sure why they sent it without a battery. It should be just as bad for lithium cells as it is when shipped fully charged. Just take a look! Otherwise it seems to work very well. I like that the sensitivity of the alarm function can be adjusted. I also really like how loud the horn/alarm siren is. It definitely sounds like a car horn, so maybe the cars will show me a little more respect and hear my new horn if they try to crash into me without looking. The button wire is too long for my setup, but I just wrapped it around the horn mount a few times, connected the wire to some other wires, and used some zip ties to keep everything nice and tidy. Also, I was concerned that I would have to mount the horn perpendicular to the handlebars, but it turns out there are also mounting holes on all four sides of the bracket, allowing me to mount it on the handlebars facing the handlebars. forward (which would be the best direction for the horn). The main body of the horn is made entirely of metal and feels very solid. The wired horn button is fairly plastic, and I'm a little concerned about the flimsy plastic hook that holds the rubber ring to hold the button on the steering wheel. It looks like a failure point. All in all a great horn/alarm! Very glad I got it! I was a little apprehensive as it's a bit pricey but I think it's worth it. I hope it gets fully charged soon (?!) and I don't need to update this review/rating.
