I bought this machine because I saw and heard about my friend. It's noisy. It's good for use around cars which is why I bought it. I rarely use a horn in my car and don't expect it to be much needed on my bike, but when I need it to warn my car of danger I need a loud horn and no small bell will do. I also have a small hiking and cycling bell for passers-by. This horn is said to scare away the grizzly bear.

Very glad I got this horn. It's loud enough to be heard by everyone inside or outside the vehicle. There is no volume control, but what's the difference. The alarm clock is a great bonus and well worth the money spent. I think the alarm is the first deterrent if someone is trying to steal your bike.
