You made the right choice!

This is my first time using GPS. I read all the reviews here and on other websites and I was very hesitant to buy this device as most of the people had system lock issue. But for me I was looking for a device that has it all! And right now it's the only device with GPS, MP3, video, pictures and Bluetooth that connects to the phone. I've searched all major electronics stores for a similar device with the same features and only found ones that only have GPS/MP3. In any case, I'm sure you understand. I crossed my fingers and bought this device. It's been a month now and I could jinx myself for writing this review, but here it is: PROS: * The device hasn't caught me yet. WOOHOO!* GPS is great! I live in Austin, Texas and have been to Dallas and North Oklahoma. And the GPS was accurate. I've only had one instance where the device had erratic recalculations (lots of flips!), but for the most part the map and voice navigation are accurate. * MP3 sounds amazing! Easy to use menu and I use an SD card reader to drag and drop music to my 8G* SD card. The video also plays and sounds fantastic! I've watched a few movies and it plays as well as most portable DVD players*. I have a few photos, but I don't use them that often. But what I have looks great!* The phone connection is fantastic! I have a Nokia 6085, no problems with the search. The address book downloaded correctly. The microphone and speaker on the device are crystal clear and I use them quite often. This is a great feature for hands-free calling while driving!* Dashboard and windshield mount accessories are very good* My favorite is the remote control grip! You can conveniently have it anywhere in the car and conveniently view all menus! CONS: * I have to agree with everyone on the battery. Battery life sucks, and it's not going to be a good device if you rely on battery life. For me the HK810 is only for my car so mine is always plugged in and this error doesn't affect me. * I saw the new firmware on HK website but didn't download it to my device as it works fine. (I always say why fix it if it ain't broke!) * No recent map updates * There was no complete manual For me I think I made a good decision with my first GPS! But like I said, I can bewitch myself and maybe you'll hear from me again!

Pros
  • Includes hands-free phones
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
