I Don't Eat Hot Dogs Unless I Make Them Here! I'm a big fan of gas station hot dogs, which are cooked on a rotary grill similar to this one, so I bought this to try and create a juicy, evenly browned hot dog that I only find at gas stations. This is definitely not a quick way to make hot dogs if you're looking for a quick bite to eat. I preheat the grill for about 10 minutes at 3/4 heat and then leave them on the grill for at least 45 minutes to cook them to my liking. Fits 8 standard size hot dogs. I have found that the quality of the brand of hot dogs you use makes a difference, for a consummate dog I use Nathan's. I like my hot dogs to be very over cooked but I don't like sharing them so I keep them at 3/4 heat but you can make them at full heat if you don't mind sharing . The bun warmer doesn't really work, it's too high to heat up, I would recommend just reheating the buns in the microwave for a few seconds. Very easy to clean. I only wash the rollers and let them dry, and also my drip tray. The canopy of the bun warmer can be easily dismantled for easy cleaning.
