Couldn't find a recommended amp range for these 5/64" Blue Demon 7014s until they arrived. All practical purposes according to ChuckE2009 (YouTube welding gurus). Available locally from Northern Tool in boxes of 1 or 5 lbs. Also, range is similar to 3/32" Lincoln Fleetwood 180 (40-80 amps). This is a 6011 electrode that penetrates deeper with a flatter bead than 7014 and 6011 welds better on dirtier metal. They're also available from Home Depot for a great price in a £5 box. 5/64" E7014 and 1/16" E6013 to match my new Everlast 140st 110v DC welding inverter. I glued and burned the first 4 E6011 rods then switched to these Blue Demon rods. They were very forgiving and could use them to get comfortable again without sticking. After 2 or 3 rods I switched back to burning 6011 and was able to run them normally. The bottom line is that if and when you do need to master the running rods, do yourself a favor and hold on to a box of these rods to ease your initial frustration in getting the hang of it. Welding Tips and Tricks on YouTube did a review of electrode choices, noting that the e7014 was the most forgiving and even ran their rod unattended to demonstrate this. He was right.
