June 2020 my 2006 Honda Accord was due for the main inspection and TÜV. As a longtime Honda owner, the local Honda service department has always treated me fairly. When I mentioned that the air conditioning wasn't blowing cold, there was a discussion about the time/cost it would take to properly maintain the system. They suggested that I try to solve the problem myself. Bought this hose/gauge and bought R134a locally. The instructions are easy to follow and the AC was recharged in no time. I hope there are no leaks in the system; but so far so good. The cost for a hose/gauge and 2 bottles of R134a is around $35. Let me add that I think I could do with just one 12 oz. Allowed to. When I first checked the pressure in the system, the needle was white (low pressure area). After using one can, the needle was in the middle of the green (about 25 psi). Thinking I could refill the system to a higher green level, I used a second can. The arrow stayed in the middle of the green. This suggests that the jars I used had a maximum pressure of 25psi. Therefore, there was little concern about recharging the system. Also, after my research and maybe a bit of overkill, I replaced the AC compressor relay; about 7 dollars. The 2006 Accord is the only car I've owned long enough to require air conditioning service. I told my family and friends about my success and offered to use a tube/gauge if needed. I hope you find this review helpful; how many have helped me in the past.
