Addendum to the previous note: I have not yet received an answer from the manufacturer on how to intelligently solve this problem. I have heard that I will have to ship the door back to them (they will fix it for free) which will result in no door or a huge hole in my current door. Although not currently available, detailed instructions and videos are available on You Tube. I really had to show the homeowner how to replace the gasket. The two craftsmen I saw are ignorant and worried they will break down the door so they don't touch it. With this sealing problem, this is NOT a 20 year old door. This lasted less than 5 years. (The duck tape still holds though!) I bought this door a few years ago and I absolutely love it. The only complaint is that when the protective film has deteriorated and needs to be replaced (at least not on my door) there is no easy fix. I've been told by various vendors and various tradespeople that I have to basically mess up the door to get the old strip out and then permanently glue in a new strip that will need to be pulled out in about a year. I've also been told to just order new doors and replace which also seems like a bad decision - for the cost of this door I'm hoping there's an easier solution to a common problem. The rest of the door is great and will hold up to my 150 lb mastiff. Thanks very much!
