I have a golden retriever who has a sensitive stomach and weight issues. We had to wean her off the kibble because no matter what food we used or how carefully we taught her a new food, her body just couldn't handle it. I did my homework and was surprised that canned dog food is much better than dry food and easy to digest, so I decided to give it a try. I've been using the Whole Earth Farms brand for as long as I can remember as it is listed as a 5 star brand on the Dog Food Advisory website and is competitively priced with other high quality canned foods. For weight management, I give her 2 cans per day with 1 tablespoon of rice per can, 1.5 ounces of cooked boneless chicken breast, and 2 of her favorite dog treats (no more than 40 calories per dog treat). When I put her on a vet prescribed diet (crumbs and canned food) she lost weight but stabilized (even with exercise) and was always hungry. NOW: She's happy, her body has adjusted to canned food quickly (and she loves it!) and as an added bonus, she's starting to lose weight again. If we ever get another dog after her, we're going to stick with Whole Earth Farms wet food.
