OMG. I have a 4 year old with SPD/ASD, a new puppy, an 8 year old SPD/ASD and a 7 year old NT. Our playroom is getting DIRTY. After one particularly frustrating experience with kinetic sand, I threw away our last rug and bought this on a furious shopping spree. All. I love it. It's lightweight, more like a bathmat, and not very thick. But it fits my washing machine. I wash this mofo about 4 times a week and it's still perfect. I hang to dry. My kids love it, they drive, play with blocks and watch TV. Did I mention you can wash it? It's so soft. To me, this isn't a vacuum, but I think if you had a lighter vacuum, it would work fine. I just shake and sweep. If they made it in bigger sizes and with more patterns I would buy it for my living room and dining room. The bedroom will be nice too.
