Nice little charger for the money but not very usable and Schumacher even says for "Basic charging needs" and "Built to charge". And for the following reason: With a charging current of up to 8 amps, it safely charges the battery to full, then automatically switches to charging mode and the green "charged" LED lights up. It will then deliver a limited amount of current to keep it charged, but if your battery requires more current than the maximum current it will provide when fully charged, your battery may still be drained. It will NOT switch back to the higher current charging mode unless you disconnect and reconnect the 110V power supply and charging cables to the battery. This has happened to me several times for various reasons, e.g. B. because the ignition key or the battery condition is not the best. It doesn't seem like it would take much more microprocessor/hardware power and programming to enable this important feature, so you don't end up with a dead/empty battery while the charger LEDs are still green!
