I liked it because it's small and portable. Performs battery charging work. It may take a little longer as it's not as powerful as a 10 or 15 amp charger.

I bought this charger to keep my cars alive which I don't drive every day. It has a fairly fast charge rate, charging most batteries in a day and keeping them fully charged. It's simple and easy to use but has a lot of cool features. I would recommend if you are looking for a basic charger that works well.

Portable 8Amp charger and maintainer at this price is a good deal. My only complaint is that these new smart chargers will stop charging if they decide the battery isn't good. I'm sure it's a safety feature, but it might leave you with a dead battery. This was my third old battery charger and they all failed so I bought a new battery yesterday and will be using it for servicing.

I am a professional auto repair shop and because we never want to leave a customer with a dead battery we use chargers to keep the batteries alive during repairs. Thanks to the hook, this charger can be hung on the hood latch very conveniently. It is compact, lightweight and reliable to use. Just press the start button and leave it alone. It topped a 4 charge battery from full to full overnight and charged most vehicles within the 3-4 hours I described. Overall very happy with the first week.

My example often lights up with a "Battery Bad" after charging a nearly dead battery. Bottom line I think this is a Schumacher SC1279 12V fully automatic charger and 8A maintenance unit - a great deal. I definitely justified my money, even for one use. Charging my dead car battery took longer than I expected - around 20 hours to fully charge a dead battery. However, the estimated charging time of 3.5 to 8.5 hours given in the user manual is based on a 50% empty battery, while mine was probably almost 100% empty.
