Review on 💨 Crucial X8 1TB Portable SSD – 1050MB/s Speed – USB 3.2 – External Solid State Drive with USB-C and USB-A Compatibility by Ans Brownlee

The product is easy to set up and install. The cable is not too short for my iMac use case. No obvious compatibility issues after reformatting to APFS. However, I buy these drives for the speed and was disappointed to find that it takes FOREVER to copy my data. The Blackmagic Speedtest shows the answer. You might as well buy a hard drive! I understand that these drives have a cache to improve performance, but either it's too small for my audio needs (capture for audio capture) or there are still bugs in this 'new model' that need to be fixed. If you mainly use the drive for listening to music or watching videos, this might be fine, but if you frequently copy/burn intensive files (e.g. audio production), it's best to look elsewhere.
