Review on πŸŒ€ 65W Portable Evaporative Air Cooler with 3 Modes, 3 Fan Speeds, LED Display, Remote Control, 7-Hour Timer, 5L Water Tank, and Ice Pack by Amy Anderson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

It doesn't work in California weather like this.

I bought it because it was a cheap alternative to portable air conditioners and I regret it. I wanted to see what it could do, but instead it just made my room very humid and made me sweat most of the day when it was on and in "cool" mode. But since it's around 70% humidity outside right now, it just doesn't work as it should. It's more of an overpriced fanless cooler than anything else. The included remote also didn't have batteries when I got it, but I chose not to use it as I almost didn't have time to turn it on. I am returning this ASAP in favor of an AC unit. Edit after 1 week. After a week of using it primarily for an extra fan and occasional room cooling in low humidity conditions, it begins to fail. It worked for me one night and the timer was set to turn off at 4am. When I got up in the morning and turned it on to get some air out, the fan rattled. I've been trying to see if there's something stuck in there or something going on with the internals, but it looks like the fan, which has no blades, just started spinning on the high setting. Now I'm forced to use it at low level in case it fails again, but I'm planning to return it tomorrow as I finally have enough time to return it. Be aware that the $30 bladeless tower fan I got from Amazon 3 years ago still compares strongly to this overpriced "cooling" fan. Another thing I noticed is that it doesn't have an auto shut off for the cool setting when it's pumping water up from the tank to the reservoir and it starts making noise. A friend of the spirit will spend more on a popular brand swamp cooler and it will automatically stop using the cooling function. The button noise is also very loud for a device and my roommate started complaining that it beeps every time I set it up at night.
