Bought a new 15.6 inch laptop and added a large desktop monitor for CAD work, but the HDMI output was ghosting. Everything else worked great including the attached screen. When I brought it back to the Micro Center they offered to replace it. Well I've been through this before and heard all the horror stories about how they replaced the motherboard, wiped all your files, and you're stuck waiting six weeks to reload all my apps just for the annoying ghost screen. So I did a little research and found that a USB port can provide graphics output with an adapter. Thats all I need. it, and the lag will interfere with my work on the design, but that all went away after I connected it. It worked perfectly! The driver loaded after 2 minutes, I plugged in the adapter and connected the same HDMI cable to my new 24 inch monitor. Now I have crisp HD video without stuttering. Very happy!
