I have well water connected to my house's external faucet (no filter); When I wash my car with this raw well water, I always get mineral stains (?) (white spots) after drying; I wanted to reduce these spots so I bought this filter. It plugs directly into my spigot (easy installation). ). The other end of the product connected to my hose with no issues. I also hooked it up to my pressure washer and it works great. As a result, I didn't see any stains after drying the car, so the product seems to have solved my problem. I've also noticed that the water seems to drain less and less, drying me out. This is the cheaper and quicker solution in my opinion as I'm lazy and don't want to add a filter to my water line just for the occasional wash. .Hope that helps
