They might be great for washing dishes. I do not know; We wash dishes with rags that have a mesh on one side. I bought them to wipe down the left side of our sink. It's just that after washing the dishes, it usually gets wet and the dishcloth is wet from washing. I wanted something dry to dry out of the rack on one side. Not right! They don't absorb at all! In fact, I also have one in the corner of the counter where we pour water from our Brita into our glass. If water is spilled, it just stays there like a bubble on a fabric. Like our car just got waxed!
