Someone else has noticed the rough appearance of the parting line of the casting and the overall roughness of the clamp makes it less than ideal. One of the three clamps I ordered is visibly deformed, as if it wasn't fully cured before being pushed out of the molding machine. The general grayness and graininess of the metal feels like recycled aluminum and who knows what else. They are serviceable, but some adjustments are needed, most notably the solid base where the adjustable pressure pad meets. It's not flat at all, it's rounded in shape with an uneven parting line down the middle. Yes these clips are cheap and cheaper than other suppliers and I don't need them every day. I'll tweak what it should be and call it good. The usual result for a cheap Chinese product.
