I've been watching Autel, Mac, Snapon and others for well over a year. Have used Snapon before and found the D8 much easier to use. The Android operating system is flawless. I chose the freedom of Bluetooth because cables are always in the way and don't reach far enough. I often work on my own cars and what I saved in 2 weeks was worth the purchase. After bailing out a few friends and saving them hundreds of dollars off what a greedy dealer would have charged, that's pretty satisfying. D8 can do everything, well not everything, but almost. Updates to the service seem to be coming almost daily, which tells me that somewhere a group of engineers is coding and improving an already incredible system. My first automatic cleaning was flawless and lightning fast. The device pulled out the VIN data almost immediately, and then another push of a button on the screen and all the trouble codes for the car came up. It may take some time to navigate the screens, but it's set up to be user-friendly. If you know how to use a smartphone, you can diagnose car problems. You have access to body control functions, transmission functions, engine, ventilation, airbags, headlights, door locks and can even craft new keys. I've only scratched the surface. I've only had this item for about 2 weeks and it has paid for itself. Shame on a Missouri Toyota dealer for overcharging and milking a friend. At 125, just for dealer hookup diagnostics, you can quickly see what savings are possible with this unit. At 300 to program a new key it's not hard to see where I'm going. This is the future of the car. Trouble code scanners only suggest what to replace. D8 allows you to hit test and see if the component works. Most problems, but not all, are easy to solve. It's nice to be able to run system checks and determine that a component is working and the real problem is a bad wire, fuse, relay, etc., rather than installing hundreds of sensors and hoping one of them fixes the problem . When buying a used car, you see a fault code reader in the seller's car, plug it in and access the ECU memory. Fast code wipes still exist in most cases. Nice to see that airbags, brakes etc are coded. If you have any doubts about a purchase, dismiss it and I promise you won't regret it. For the home mechanic, repair videos are within reach, code diagnostics and problem suggestions are also available. Customer service is as fast as D8 and I'm impressed with their speed. The only thing I wish I could get this thing sooner! Xtool, thank you for a great product, fast service and great customer service. This is a game changer for the little guy. Well done guys and keep it up! One thing that got me thinking is the compatibility with my Dodge truck, rest assured D8 not only works on my truck but also on my cars and even allows access to 4x4 subsystems. . Very happy with my purchase and I'm sure you are too. John F Missouri USA
