Review on Curt Manufacturing 56376 Custom Harness by Andrew Holman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I wish someone would give me that advice. so i'll tell you

It was easy enough to follow the instructions to install the wiring harness connectors in the cargo area of my Kia Niro. However, you will then be asked to route the power cable to the battery at the front of the vehicle. I don't remember the installation guide giving any suggestions on how to proceed. Lay cables under the car? Through the frame? In the drawing room under the carpet? How do I get through the firewall into the engine compartment? If I drive under the car, how can I avoid getting snagged on the cables by objects on the ground or moving objects in the car? (like swingarms, driveshafts, etc.) or hot parts (like exhaust system, etc.) THEN IT HAPPENS TO ME. I only need this trailer harness when towing! That means maybe 2-3 hours a few times a year. SO I added a quick connector from the positive battery post. and added a mating connector on the power wire that goes to the trailer horn control box at the rear of the car. AND THE POWER SUPPLY CONNECTED THROUGH THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE. Exit through the top front edge of the driver's side door and under the hood to the battery. Completed trailer operation. Disconnect the power cord. Roll up and stow with the remainder of the wiring harness/interlocking/trailer plug in the luggage compartment of the vehicle. Whenever I need to reconnect, it takes a minute.
