We have 3 of these in our shipping department (this is the 3rd). Works like a charm as it should. Sealing pouches larger than 1.5 mil is difficult, and even 1.5 mil cannot be easily sealed, so care must be taken. No problem with 1 mil packing, that's what these sealants seem to be for, 1 mil and under. For thicker bags, we simply cut a piece of plastic tape and seal it by hand. The packet pruning feature seems more of a gimmick than a practical feature. We simply cut off the protruding ends with scissors. One piece of advice, be careful with your thumbs when sealing, sometimes you'll scratch them on the metal edges when you press on the bag. This has happened to me several times. I now always keep my thumbs away as far as possible when using this sealant. Overall this is a great and inexpensive way to seal plastic bags and give them a professional look.
