later Essentially it's similar to other similar vegetable steamers but I decided to return it as the rubber feet would be too hot and I'm afraid the chemicals in it Water being washed out is absorbed into vegetables. Even on the bottom of a pot of boiling water, the plastic can melt over time. It seems too fragile and the edges are not smooth. It's cheap, so maybe my expectations are too high, but I'd prefer a steamer without rubber feet, and preferably one that fits in a pot that's off the bottom of the pot. It may work well for some, but not for me. Update: Bought again as true to size and bought with a 2 tier steamer that didn't fit the pot. The best option is a steamer, but this is the most economical. The stainless steel petals are a bit sharp but after further consideration I decided to keep them and have already used them and they were easy to remove from the pot and easy to clean.
