I bought this because I had rust spots on a nearly new sword that I left in the leather sheath for too long without re-oiling (which has resulted in the the oil sheath is soaked and left the sword unprotected). I was horrified to find these small but ugly stains and was willing to accept the consequences of my inaction until I tried using this eraser to remove rust or even, I hoped, lighten the stains. Luckily, the eraser completely removed the rust and accompanying stains, and as a bonus, also removed the "Made in China" stamp. I was shocked and delighted. It was quick and relatively easy. It exceeded my wildest dreams and restored my $300 sword to like-new condition. I would recommend it to anyone looking to remove rust or rust stains from a blade. Also, as said, the maker's stamps are removed with no marks or scratches on the blade (perfect for time re-enactments). This is an amazing article.
