Inexpensive but very effective bread knife. Will it last forever? I don't know, but I don't see why it won't last long with proper care. Like my mother's sewing scissors, I'm religious in using them for one purpose only. In this case, it's sliced bread. I believe this practice will sustain smooth cutting indefinitely. I don't have time in my life for junk, but I appreciate a good deal. This knife fits. It should be noted that it's probably longer than you think. Now that I have a 12 inch model I don't need a knife that long. That's not a minus - maybe it's a bonus for you - but it's just an observation.
