Review on Rancho RS9000XL RS999262 Shock Absorber: Performance and Comfort Combined by Anthony Arcos

Revainrating 5 out of 5

So far so good for shocks, struts and suspension

Mine came from TSETruckStuff with free shipping and they arrived incredibly fast (just a few days). Installation was easy. A 2004 Chev Silverado 3500 with Duramax has the rear shocks set to stage 3 (range 1-9, soft-hard) and that doesn't seem good for any load. The real test comes when I load the camper into bed (I expect to set level 8 or 9) and get into windy areas. I'll try to report back after that (probably in about 5 months). UPDATE FOR 6 MONTHS. Loaded a 2600 lb Lance camper into bed and just got back from a 13,000 mile trip. I had to go to 9 front and rear and wish they were stiffer. It's a bit better/tougher than the non-adjustable Bilsteins, which were VERY good in every way, both loaded and unloaded. With a loaded camper, the Rancho's handling was very good, although I didn't have a strong crosswind. Maybe on the next trip.

Pros
  • Replacement parts
Cons
  • Some trouble
