Description of Rancho RS9000XL RS999262 Shock Absorber: Performance and Comfort Combined

NINE LEVELS OF PERFORMANCE -- Nine-position easy-to-adjust knob allows customized damping control and firmness for on-road and off-road flexibility. DESIGNED FOR HARDWORKING VEHICLES -- Ideal for stock or lifted trucks, SUVs and Jeeps that tow, haul or go off road. INDUSTRY FIRST -- Recognized as the first nine-position manually adjustable shock series in the off-road market. REDUCES FADE -- Nitrogen gas pressurized to 120 PSI to minimize air-to-oil mixture and reduce damping performance fade and foaming. STRONG AND DURABLE -- Features an application-specific 18mm nitro-carburized piston rod to resist scuffs and corrosion, double-welded loops at stress areas and 1.25-in. sintered iron piston for enhanced structural integrity. HANDLES EXTREME TEMPERATURE CHANGES -- Up to 2.75-in. tri-tube body (application specific) filled with all-weather fluid allows for cooler operation, increased vehicle control and ability to withstand internal temperatures of -40 to 248°F. SMOOTH PERFORMANCE -- Polyurethane rebound bumper and bushings and graphite-filled fluon-banded piston help absorb ride harshness and enhance responsiveness to changing road conditions for an overall smoother ride. BUILT TO LAST -- Low-friction, self-lubricating seal retains gas and oil for quicker rebound and smoother compression while the long-lasting premium liquid metallic finish and polyvinyl protective boot ensures long life.

Ride Improvement

Bought to match Rancho shocks on a 1996 2WD Ram 2500 5.9L Cummins. Driveability is now comparable to the 2010-2014 Silverado.

  • Confident
Cons
  • Compatibility

Replacement for R4tech

Couldn't find replacement shock absorbers for my R4tech suspension. Nobody had a direct part number. With standard Rancho 9000 (original part). I don't know what "non-standard ventilation" is for the original devices, but they work fine.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • boring packaging

Excellent shock absorbers fit replacement parts

I have bought these shock absorbers for other trucks and again not disappointed. We tow and load our very sturdy Dodge truck. You made our trip so much better. I can't wait until we can buy some for the front of the truck.

Pros
  • Easy install
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Driving behavior significantly improved.

I've never thought about my shock absorbers. I have 140,000 on my Chevrolet truck. After changing them in my driveway about 30 minutes later, I no longer flinched when hitting a bumpy road or pothole. I was so impressed I just changed the rear shocks. I can't wait for the fronts to be changed, but most likely I'll ask the shop to do that work.

  • Automotive

  • Mostly OK, but...

Excellent investment! 2003 Chevy Suburban on 28 " Wheels

They work better than any shocks I've ever had! I have them on a 2003 Chevy Suburban on 28" rims! I decided to upgrade my entire suspension and put these shocks front and rear. perfect fit and a cool adjuster knob to make the ride stiffer or softer! rides better than expects and handles like a sports suspension, especially around corners and bends.

Pros
  • Shocks
Cons
  • No Power

So far so good for shocks, struts and suspension

Mine came from TSETruckStuff with free shipping and they arrived incredibly fast (just a few days). Installation was easy. A 2004 Chev Silverado 3500 with Duramax has the rear shocks set to stage 3 (range 1-9, soft-hard) and that doesn't seem good for any load. The real test comes when I load the camper into bed (I expect to set level 8 or 9) and get into windy areas. I'll try to report back after that (probably in about 5 months). UPDATE FOR 6 MONTHS. Loaded a 2600 lb Lance camper into bed and
