Bought this Craft A Brew Hefeweizen kit for myself to start brewing at home. I'm basically a novice when it comes to home brewing, but I made a batch of whole grains with my dad. First, the gear in this kit resembles the same items found in other similarly priced kits from other companies. . The difference between similar beer kit companies with this type of kit seems to lie in the recipe ingredients included and then in the branding and packaging. I chose this particular set from Craft A Brew because they were one of the few I found to offer a Hefeweizen blend. This set gives you most of what you need but leaves some gaps. - Stick for shelves (no automatic siphon) - Airlock and plugs - Thermometer - Pipe - Pipe clamp - Funnel - Recipe set with disinfectant bag Glass bottles - lever only) - Bottle caps - Bottle plugs - Bottle filler ((not required but much easier) - Hydrometer and Test tube (optional but essential if you want to check specific gravity and alcohol content) Brewing experience: I followed the kit instructions and made sure the brewing process went smoothly This is an extract kit so the process is not like that long and complicated like brewing whole grain beer.The only problem I had was when I saw the boil was over I had 1/2 to 2/3 gallon left.The instructions said you had to use the Bottle should top up to 1 gallon if you're short, so I did, though I'm deducting a star for that, I'm assuming you start with 1 gallon of water ne, since most people may not have a pot large enough to boil large batches, but given the importance of hygiene in brewing, I don't like the idea of adding water. stage before fermentation. Final Thoughts: Overall I like this set. Packaging is good, instructions are good. You have pretty much everything you need to brew beer and start fermenting. I knew there were gaps and ordered additional items at the time of ordering my kit. If you enjoy brewing extracts then this set will work well enough.
