The kit was easy to use and was a great introduction to

We wanted to get into cider making. The kit was easy to use and was a great introduction. The first batch was tolerable (dry champagne carbonated with heavy pellets), but we certainly got acquainted with the steps involved in making cider, and since then we've purchased entirely different equipment.

Great starter kit in Home Brewing Starter Sets

So my son and I started brewing our own cider with this kit. It was a great start. But very soon after we started, we bought better gear and found better ways of doing things. However, for those who don't know where to start, this is a great first step. It would be nice if storage bottles were also included as this is the only piece of gear not included but required.

Cider Days for Homebrewing and Winemaking

I ordered this for my friend after we harvested 45 pounds of apples. It's the exact same kit as the Williams Sonoma and for a PART of the cost (especially including shipping!). This set had everything you needed (except a cider press, but you can buy ready made cider too). It was much easier than looking for all the necessary tools. It takes 10 days to ferment so we haven't tried it yet, but for its simplicity (and repeatability of use. 3 packs of yeast) I'm sure it would make a great beginner…

The instructions are clear and easy to understand

I successfully brewed my first batch of beer. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. The brewing process is quite lengthy, but that's always the case. Equipment is basic but sufficient for beginners. The beer is quite interesting. Straight out of the 6-week brewing process, it tastes very similar to Belgian Dubbel, with a pleasant sweetness and vanilla-oak aroma, but without the overpowering hops. However, I left one bottle for a few months and it turned out to be a good IPA with very…

Too expensive for what you get

The kit arrived quickly, well packaged and complete. But I'd like to do a little more research before I buy it. You can buy freshly squeezed local cider in a glass liter jar for $9. Other items can be purchased individually and in larger quantities (yeast and sanitizer) or better quality (automatic siphon) for $30.50 from Revain. So the rounded amount is $40 versus $50 for the price of the kit plus cheap store-bought juice. The kit actually worked as advertised and I enjoyed the new hard cider…

Be careful when shipping fragile glass

Hello, I tried this product for the first time a few months ago and had great results with my first batch of America Pale Ale. The beer is really great and the process of making this model is fun and rewarding. If you like local craft beer, you'll love this set and the ability to say you brewed your own beer! I decided to make a new batch and brew two different flavors at the same time. The first kit I bought was at a local store but they don't carry it around anymore so I ordered a brand new…

Not bad for a beginner!

This was my very first Moonshine experience. I've scoured the internet for all the homebrew kits in small batches; and kept coming back to it. It got pretty good reviews compared to others; and a glass bottle versus a plastic keg was more appealing to me. I was a little stunned thinking about it until I opened the box. The instructions were very easy to understand; and also a great youtube video. Brewing (not bottling) takes less than 3 hours; including reading instructions; collect dishes; and

Overall a good kit, note you will need to fill in some gaps

Bought this Craft A Brew Hefeweizen kit for myself to start brewing at home. I'm basically a novice when it comes to home brewing, but I made a batch of whole grains with my dad. First, the gear in this kit resembles the same items found in other similarly priced kits from other companies. . The difference between similar beer kit companies with this type of kit seems to lie in the recipe ingredients included and then in the branding and packaging. I chose this particular set from Craft A Brew…

Decent yeast wheat kit. The taste is excellent.

This basic set has pretty much everything you need to brew beer. Below are some tips for better results. 1. You need a place to store your beer after it's done. You can reuse beer bottles with lids. The easiest way to remove old labels is to soak the bottles in baking soda. You can buy Grolsch style bottles online that already come with a refillable cap system. If you reuse your beer bottles, you need to buy a capper and some bottle caps.2. To boil the wort, you need a large saucepan. It will…
