Review on ๐Ÿ“บ Amazon Basics Heavy-Duty Tilting TV Wall Mount for 37-80 inch TVs - Supports up to 120 lbs, Compatible with LED LCD OLED Flat Curved Screens by Stacy Sturm

Revainrating 3 out of 5

This is a great mount for a lightweight LED TV. (Don't believe the built in spirit level though)

An excellent mount for a lightweight LED TV and an excellent mount in its price range. I'm deducting 2 stars for the following reasons: Compared to previous mounts that I bought, this is by no means "heavy duty". The metal bends slightly under load. That's fine for a modern lightweight TV, but I wouldn't recommend using this mount for heavy plasma or older LCD TVs. The heavy duty mounts I have used in the past are much thicker metal and will not flex. (Minus 1 star for claiming it's durable, when actually it's not.) The built-in bubble level on the wall mount sucks. I should have read the other reviews on here first, which clearly point out this shortcoming. I made the mistake of installing a wall mount and trusting the built in bubble level (how can you screw up a bubble level?). When I decided to hang the TV, it was 2 inches higher on one side than the other. After removing the TV and adjusting the correct height on the wall mount, the problem became apparent. The built-in spirit level was far away. I would prefer that this mount didn't include a level at all if it would be inaccurate. I have included a photo of the built-in level versus a separate level after the bracket has been re-aligned to suit the instrument. (Minus 1 star for the misleading, inaccurate, useless bubble level) So this is a great mount at a very affordable price if you are aware of the downsides beforehand. I would give this mount 5 stars if it didn't claim to be heavy duty and didn't have a built in bubble level or built in precision level.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • So far so good
