Overall a well thought out emergency radio. Even with the large built-in lithium-ion battery, it's still quite light. A flashlight and reading lamp are nice (and useful) extras. Some of my favorite features are the digital display, which can be backlit if desired, and the radio's multiple power options (manual crank, disposable batteries, installed rechargeable battery, solar charging option). I think it's great that you can also charge other devices with the radio. In theory, you can charge it with a crank or a solar panel and then use it to charge your phone. I don't care about the speaker. I think this is hardly enough, especially since the main purpose of radio is emergency weather forecasting. From a full charge, I left the radio, flashlight, and reading lamp on until they were completely dead. It took several hours to fully die, with all three things working the entire time. Then I tried charging it with just the crank. It worked, but it took A LOT of scrolling (maybe 20 minutes?) to get enough power to get it working again. While hand spinning was tricky, I think it would have been worth it in a pinch and it's certainly nice to be able to! I haven't tried solar charging yet. Charging the included battery with the included charger and cable worked very well. I was also able to easily charge the radio with my regular phone charger. The radio reception seems to be at least on par with other radios I've had. Each of the reading lamp and flashlight functions has two different brightness settings. which makes them both very useful. The flashlight is quite bright at maximum brightness. The weather alert function works well and helps ensure you know there is a weather alert with a flashing red light which is very noticeable. Works well and has many useful features. Will definitely be using in harsh weather this spring.
