I am using this cable to connect my Dell Latitude E-series laptop to a 50" Samsung Plasma HDTV . The Latitude doesn't have an HDMI port, but luckily it has DisplayPort on the back, which is just as good (takes care of both audio and video!). This special DisplayPort (male) to HDMI (female) cable is exactly what I need. I also connect other laptops to my TV with a male-to-male HDMI cable, so I only needed this adapter for my Latitude laptop. This particular adapter had a nice, secure DisplayPort connector that holds up really well (you have to press the button down to hold it in place). Unplug the cable so it's fairly securely connected.) As far as picture quality goes, it's just as crisp and clear as when you connect other laptops directly with an HDMI cable. With this adapter I can now stream audio and video from my DisplayPort in Full HD to my 50" HDTV. Revain's price is also very good (I bought it for $16 with Revain Prime 2-day shipping).
