Excellent DisplayPort Male to HDMI Female Adapter

I am using this cable to connect my Dell Latitude E-series laptop to a 50" Samsung Plasma HDTV . The Latitude doesn't have an HDMI port, but luckily it has DisplayPort on the back, which is just as good (takes care of both audio and video!). This special DisplayPort (male) to HDMI (female) cable is exactly what I need. I also connect other laptops to my TV with a male-to-male HDMI cable, so I only needed this adapter for my Latitude laptop. This particular adapter had a nice, secure DisplayPort

Use StarTech and save yourself the headache

I have an old laptop with an nVidia Quadro 2000M display adapter and no HDMI port so I tried WARRKY on the display port and was able to use the nVidia software not bring to create an audio device for sending audio over HDMI. Tried adapters Insignia and Dynex. Same result. Tried the StarTech adapter and it worked with no problems. I have several StarTech adapters for Mac and Win laptops. They are cool!

Works as expected

I have a Dell Latitude E6510 with DisplayPort. Apparently, many business projectors, depending on their age, have DisplayPort but no HDMI. As a business laptop, the Latitude has a DisplayPort connection for compatibility with more projectors. I don't use it with a projector, but I like to connect it to an HDTV, so I need a way to convert DisplayPort to HDMI. I previously purchased a DisplayPort to HDMI cable. It worked for a while but eventually stopped connecting to audio. The picture isโ€ฆ

Excellent DisplayPort Male to HDMI Female Adapter

I am using this cable to connect a Dell Latitude E Series laptop to a 50" Samsung Plasma HDTV to connect. The Latitude doesn't have an HDMI port, but luckily it has a DisplayPort connector on the back that's just as good (takes care of both audio and video!). TV has HDMI male to male cable so I only needed this adapter for my Latitude laptop. This particular adapter had a nice, secure DisplayPort connector that holds up really well (you have to press the button down to release the cable so itโ€ฆ

Yes, this only works with USB-VGA adapters

EDIT, 3/22/14: I just noticed that the manual says the signal is passive only and only transmits on DP++ ports becomes. Well my Dell Optiplex is DP only and the video streams normally. I often watch prime videos online here at Revain and have had no issues with the same Optiplex 780 as in the original review below. ================= == ====This is me the proud owner of a Toshiba 19L4200U LCD TV that I bought here at Revain a few months ago (see my Review).
