Review on ☕️ Bodum BISTRO Blade Grinder: High-Performance Electric Coffee Grinder in Sleek Black by April Taylor

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The grinder is really bad - it is not recommended to use it several times a year.

I am revising my original review which said this grinder is excellent except you have to blow the coffee dust out of the breech with compressed air from time to time. There was an error. The real reason this grinder dies after a month or less of daily use is that its internal components are ridiculously cheap and fragile. I didn't really care about getting my money back, I was more interested in finding out the real reason this coffee grinder failed, so I took it apart. The photo shows the microswitch that I pulled out of the device. With this switch removed I can connect the power and the motor runs with no problems. This switch is defective, it's cheaply made in China, it costs about 19 cents to make. I can't pass current through this switch. My guess is that Bodum wants to play the numbers game and sell a lot of grinders in hopes that people will only use them occasionally. You know these parts won't stand up to everyday use. And to replace this switch I can't get it for 0.19 cents unless I buy 200 switches in bulk. I have to pay about $20 on ebay for a compatible replacement switch, which is the price of a coffee grinder. Cheap coffee grinder with cheap parts, confirmed! not reliable for other than light occasional use.
