We bought this training collar for our husky pup. As some of you may know, huskies are very stubborn and your typical "no" or forward doesn't work. We bought it mainly for the vibration and beeps to draw its attention to correcting common misbehavior. I really wanted to use mild shock for dangerous behavior like trying to chew on a power cord or jumping on the counter/oven/stovetop and potentially eating something he shouldn't or burning himself. We tested the shock ourselves and level 1 felt like nothing and level 2 felt like electrocuting yourself by touching a doorknob (static electricity) but level 3 was a huge leap up ( we didn't even try 4 or 5). by feel 3). Unfortunately 2 doesn't even affect him (due to all his fur I think) but 3 made him squeak and I thought it hurt so we don't use the shock function anymore. Luckily, shock cured him of his umbilical cord chewing. I'm giving it four stars because the vibration and beep work beautifully, the battery lasts quite a long time, and the range is good (I can hear my husband with him in the other room and he's yelling "buzz" which is the signal for me to use the vibrate button).
