The ribbon works on some typewriters from the 30's and 40's. It fit some of my Royal typewriters, but on some typewriters I had to rewind the tape because the spool didn't fit properly. The band itself is well colored and works as expected. I recommend a good pair of rubber gloves if you need to rewind or thread your typewriter's original tape reels. Theses are plastic so if you prefer the original metal spools you will need to transfer the tape. I have found that the easiest way to do this is to remove one of the plastic spools and apply the tape to the metal spool. Then insert into the typewriter without "threading" the ribbon and simply rotate the spool until the ribbon rests on the metal spool. Then take the ribbon from another plastic spool and attach a metal spool to that end. You can then thread the tape and have saved the metal spools. Be sure to check the width of the tape on your typewriter to ensure the size is correct.
