I don't need a lot of lighting equipment now that I photograph almost exclusively concerts, theater, dances and gallery events. However, I do outdoor portraits so I need something lightweight and budget friendly. I was surprised at how well made this set is for the price. The coasters and umbrellas don't wobble as much when set up as I would expect in this price range. However, the flash mounts themselves are a bit cheap. They are not suitable for use in windy conditions when shooting outdoors, even if sandbags are used on the pedestals to hold them. This kit is ideal for those who want to get started with studio lighting without investing in monoblocks and expensive equipment.
