Review on 🐎 Cashel English Tush Cushion: Ultimate Comfort for Horse Saddles by Jimmy Montalvo

Comfortable and durable

Ugly, but it works. If you can, you better buy a saddle that fits you really well and is comfortable. But if you need to ride in a saddle that hurts your butt or you have back/hip issues that would benefit from the extra cushioning this will help. I ride three times a week but I don't have a horse so I don't ride in the saddle. I'm not very picky about saddles and tend to be comfortable in a variety of styles and sizes, but one of the ponies I ride regularly has an incredibly uncomfortable saddle. It suits him very well, but not at all to my body. I leaned forward in half the seat to avoid uncomfortable pressure on my sit bones, and something in the saddle aggravated my old back and hip problems. I had never used a gel saddle cover before and when it arrived it felt nice and soft but I was skeptical that it would actually stay in place. After several trips I am very satisfied with it. The saddle is easy to get in and out of, offers plenty of cushioning and doesn't slip even when not supported by your weight. The wiring and two points are fine - it doesn't roll back or move. And someone was feeling a bit playful today because the weather was getting cooler and it wasn't changing at all when they decided that he wanted to jump and then chase the OTTB canter when we should have been trotting. Without the gel pad, jumping around would be torture. His back, hips and sit bones are fine. Defects? Besides being ugly, it's a bit hot. I bought this in late August and it made riding in the heat/humidity even more sticky and uncomfortable. But it's softer and less hot than a fluffy saddle pad. It's also not a miracle cure for a bad saddle. I'd rather ride in something that suits me better, but given that I don't have a choice, I'm glad I have this thing.
