Velcro holds up very well and is generally easy to apply. I recently drove three thousand miles across the country and bought a pair of these to hold my kids' portable DVD players. I have a lot of curly hair and the Velcro on the back of the headrest was constantly grabbing and pulling on my hair. That was the most annoying, and even after trying to adjust the position of the velcro it was still sticky. It did what it was supposed to do and held the DVD player securely in place. Just be prepared to have your hair pulled out if you decide to use the headrest while driving.
