The chlorine control system needed for our water system was eventually installed in my house as it was lacking somewhere else that worked. It is attached to the wall in the technical room in the basement. The sound it makes is like a cell phone vibrating on a table top. Every 30 seconds. Because it's attached to the wall, it seems to telegraph throughout the house. The wall transmitted vibration and noise throughout the house. It was incredibly annoying. I installed a piece of this between the wall and the noisy unit and it practically eliminated the noise from outside the tech room. I can hear through the wall when I'm on the other side of the wall in the lobby. But I don't hear it anywhere else in the house. If you have noisy medical equipment, pumps, or similar noise-generating devices in your home, this is a really good solution.
