I have a pair of USB peripherals - a scanner and a label printer - that I wanted to put on a side table a few feet from the processor. I decided to buy some long USB cables and try them out. Some reviewers had issues with the longer length, but I wasn't sure if it was due to the cable length or the USB ports (or hubs) used. I have no problems at all with 16 foot cables plugged directly into the USB 2.0 ports on the back of my processor and not into a hub. For the money, these cables are a good value as the extra length made it much easier to attach my underused peripherals to one side of my desk.
