Review on SQ

I just opened the box and tested this device, it was not possible to install it. However, it may take some time before I can, and this device is certainly commendable. I've been an audio hobbyist for many years and a professional musician/producer by night. I build my own speakers and have regular experience tuning and troubleshooting professional audio systems in various venues. I prefer simplicity over complexity, always unplug before amplifying, etc. One of those guys who work with music so much that the home system is always a simple, purist approach with tried and tested hardware. So, I have an AVR-154 connected to an old (early 70's) Pioneer single 4-way floorstanding speaker. Doesn't even work in stereo. No comb effect. Loudspeakers in the middle of the wall. No reflections. This block is crystal clear, clean. The basses are pronounced, realistic, full but dense. The highs don't roll off early, but are present without the distortion I can hear. thick sound. Knowing what it's like to stand next to the drums, bass and keyboards and hear everything that's going on around me, this receiver made me feel that way. I heard instruments. but are present without any distortion that I hear. thick sound.
