On the plus side, they're ideal for use in areas that don't get very hot. I bought this on March 15, 2021 to install my Garmin on my Forrester dashboard. I was very happy until the outside temperature rose to 95 degrees in the summer. The interior temperatures are likely to have risen significantly higher. Shortly after weeks of high temperatures, my Garmin started losing suction and falling off the dashboard. Upon closer inspection (see video) I saw that the mounting pad was warped and the Garmin suction cup didn't fit well. I replaced the padding, but instead of using the Garmin attachment's suction function, I bought 2" x 4" velcro and used it to attach my Garmin to the new pad. Problem solved. If these mounting pads were twice as thick, I don't think the deformation would have occurred. That's why I give one star for bad design.
